Enclosed is an accounting of my expenses in connection with my lecture.

The trip to Seattle was part of a longer trip, and therefore, your share of
the travel expense is somewhat less than the cost of a round trip ticket from
San Francisco to Seattle.  However, in order to avoid going back to San
Francisco, I had to stay in New York over a weekend.

What I did was to add the cost of the hotel for that weekend to the airfare
and divided the total in proportion to the airfares to separate destinations.
